Flexible planning at Bundesliga level: Bayern Munich opts for SAP BPC for Netweaver in cooperation with Freudenberg IT
Freudenberg IT pilots SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation for flexible planning processes at Bayern Munich
Weinheim, August 18, 2009 – As one of the first medium-sized companies, FC Bayern München AG (Bayern Munich) has opted for SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation for NetWeaver (BPC), a high-performance solution allowing flexible planning and consolidation processes within the existing business intelligence (BI) environment. International IT service provider Freudenberg IT is piloting the application for the Munich soccer club and will be providing advice and support. The SAP BPC pilot project and the support of Freudenberg IT will mean that Bayern Munich is one of the first medium-sized enterprises capable of having a major influence on content development for earnings and cash flow planning. The information required for this purpose will be integrated into the application and managed centrally. SAP BPC can be tailored specifically to the needs of the club, allowing optimum implementation of planning processes.
Efficient planning ensures optimum management
Optimum corporate performance calls for unified management. This approach needs to be supported by accurate finance and process data delivered on a real-time basis. Thanks to the use of the new SAP planning software, the responsible planner at Bayern Munich will be able to concentrate in the future on effective planning, budgeting, analysis and reporting. The integrated solution will assume full responsibility for data acquisition and compilation.
"We have already found Freudenberg IT to be a reliable and competent partner in the past," explained Stefan Mennerich, responsible for media rights, new media and IT at Bayern Munich. "That's why it was the obvious solution to cooperate with Freudenberg IT, a company with convincing innovation capabilities and technical competence, on a project which is so important for us."
"We are very pleased to support Germany's most successful soccer club, a long-standing customer of Freudenberg IT, in the optimization of its planning processes. The application was developed especially for medium-sized enterprises taking the latest Netweaver-based version as a starting point and tailored to the needs of Bayern Munich," added Michael Fichtner, CEO of Freudenberg IT.
Bayern Munich is one of the most successful soccer clubs in terms of sporting and financial performance. With 147,072 members (as of November 7, 2008), Bayern Munich is also one of the world's largest sports clubs.
